“Mazda RX-8 hydrogen RE” on April 24

Mazda announced that they had completed the (i) car of a Norwegian specification of hydrogen vehicle.

This Norwegian specification car was developed for national project “HyNor” of Norway.
HyNor connects between Oslo City and Stavanger City.
The hydrogen station is set up in each base in the expressway, and 580km’s in the total length project that aims to enable running with the hydrogen vehicle.

Mazda agrees to cooperation in this project in November, 2007, and is beginning running in Norway in the public road with the monitor car in October, 2008.

Mazda RX-8 hydrogen RE is a hydrogen vehicle based on “RX-8” of Mazda, and the Norwegian specification car changes the base car to the European specification car, and adopts the left-hand drive and the manual transmission.
This car uses in the inauguration ceremony of the hydrogen station held in Oslo on May 11 and after the lingua of participation, it is used for the certification and the maintenance education, etc. in the locale.
It is said that vehicles of this specification are produced sequentially, and the lease sale is scheduled to be begun in Norway after the summer of 2009 in the future.
